This is an opinion piece- just want to open up a conversation about AI and get your thoughts. AI images are getting more & more sophisticated. To the point where you cannot tell the difference if it’s real or not. Even videos are being duplicated at rapid speed. Now, with some of these you can tell they are AI. In fact, some of the medical providers I watch on YT have been duplicated. Or- even made up Doctors. Yikes!
AI is here to stay whether we like it or not… My main concern is how AI generated images are going to affect photographers taking REAL pictures. Will the public- our viewers eventually stop believing that any of them are real?
As a Professional Real Estate Photographer and Hobbyist Street Photographer, I am definitely concerned. I have thought about how could Real Estate Photography be abducted by AI? Right now, I don’t know.. But with how rapidly AI is growing, I am sure this is a possibility.
I have seen where some photographers are adding the “This is what I’ve seen”, but this “Is what I took”. Helpful yes.. but even these images could probably be duplicated now.
Perhaps I am too concerned over this- and maybe not. I think that we are already losing so much of our humanity. Many youth do not even leave their homes anymore when they are not at school or work. 🙁
