Kiesel Park is a great place for nature photography! I’ve been there several times and I always walk away with images I’m happy with.
My favorite place is the garden. I’ve seen many different types of birds, butterflies and bees here. I typically start at the garden, then walk around the 2.5 mile loop. There are plenty of opportunities for great images all around the park.

In one area that has a large concentration of trees, I’ve seen squirrels, Cardinals, Blue Birds, and even snakes.. Yeah- so be careful. The one snake I did notice was black- and was near a tree. It actually blended in with one of the roots!
There are bird houses along the path, and in one instance I saw baby birds in one of them. As you can see from my images, many of them like to perch on top. I do my best to sit as close as I can and be still. I have a 300 mm lens -but sometimes it’s not long enough.
If you are there for an extended amount of time, then you’ll be happy to hear that there are clean, and well maintained restrooms (even open on Sundays). 🙂
If you have been to Kiesel Park in Auburn to take pictures, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
