Change the format in your camera to shoot in squares. In my Fuji- there is a 1:1 ratio. For Canon- this setting should be within Aspect Ratio. For me, taking these images in a square format- and in Black & White moved me out of my comfort zone. I tend to stay with the objects, etc. that I am most familiar with.

Up to this point, I have never taken pictures of any type of trash/garbage. When I first saw the glove for instance- I thought Ewww… However, the image is kind of cool. You can see the texture and how worn this glove is. Makes me wonder how it ended up on the fence in the first place.??
The door knocker is another example of something I never would have thought twice about photographing. In B/W though- it looks like a little soldier in an abstract type of way.
